Verizon has announced the rollout of the August 2024 security patch update for several of Samsung’s foldable devices, specifically the Galaxy Z Fold 3, Z Fold 4, Z Flip 3, and Z Flip 4.
This was an incremental over-the-air maintenance update. It did not add major features; its purpose was to close security vulnerabilities and improve stability.
The August 2024 bulletin addressed Android CVEs and Samsung-specific vulnerabilities affecting system services, Knox and device security.
How to check for the current Verizon update
Users can check for the update by navigating to:
- Settings > Software update > Download and install
To avoid any mobile data charges and prevent issues during the update, it’s smart to connect to a Wi-Fi network and ensure your device is well-charged before you begin. The entire process, from downloading to installing, should take around 6 to 10 minutes.
