Galaxy Z Flip 6 and Fold 6 getting August 2024 security update in India and the US
Samsung has just pushed out the August 2024 security patch update for it’s Galaxy Z Flip 6 and Galaxy Z Fold 6 phones in India and the USA. This August 2024 update is focused on security fixes.
The update comes with different version numbers depending on where you are and whether your phone is locked or unlocked.
In India, the Galaxy Z Flip 6 update is version F741BXXU1AXH7, while the Galaxy Z Fold 6 update is F956BXXU1AXH7.
In the USA, there are two sets of versions: locked Galaxy Z Flip 6 phones get F741USQU1AXH7, and locked Galaxy Z Fold 6 phones get F956USQU1AXH7. Unlocked versions in the USA get F741U1UEU1AXH7 for the Z Flip 6 and F956U1UEU1AXH7 for the Z Fold 6.
This update fixes over 45 issues with the phones’ system, Knox security, and features related to Galaxy Watch. It strengthens the phone’s security to keep user data and files safer. Plus, it helps the phones run smoother and have fewer problems when doing things like opening apps or navigating through the phone.
Users will either get a notification about the update or can check for it themselves. To manually check, just go to the Settings app, tap Software Update, and choose “Download and install.”
Before downloading, it’s a good idea to connect to Wi-Fi since the update might use a lot of data. Also, make sure your phone is charged or plugged in to avoid any issues.
During the update process, your phone might restart a few times. This is completely normal, so no need to worry. The whole thing usually takes around 5 to 10 minutes, so just hang tight while it finishes.
If the update doesn’t appear on your phone, there’s another option. You can manually download the update using Fija Tool and install it by flashing the firmware with the ODIN flash tool. But be careful — this method is only recommended if you’re experienced with flashing firmware. It can be tricky and risky, and mistakes might cause issues with your phone if you’re not sure how to do it properly.
