Verizon US released August 2024 security update to multiple foldables
We are in mid-August, and we have already seen many devices from Samsung getting the latest August 2024 security patch update. Now US carrier-locked devices are getting the update.
Verizon has announced the rollout of the August 2024 security patch update for several of Samsung’s foldable devices, specifically the Galaxy Z Fold 3, Z Fold 4, Z Flip 3, and Z Flip 4.
This is an incremantal airborne update that focuses on tearing down bugs and security vulnerabilities. It didn’t bring any new features, but from a security point of view, this is a very important update.
This update brings the latest Android security patches, addressing over 55 vulnerabilities, including 34 critical CVEs (Common Vulnerabilities and Exposures) and 14 SVEs (Samsung Vulnerabilities and Exposures). The focus of this security update is on enhancing system services, Knox services, and overall device security.
How to Update Your Device
Users can check for the update by navigating to:
- Settings > Software update > Download and install
To avoid any mobile data charges and prevent issues during the update, it’s smart to connect to a Wi-Fi network and ensure your device is well-charged before you begin. The entire process, from downloading to installing, should take around 6 to 10 minutes.
When the update process begins, it’s normal for your phone to restart several times, so don’t worry if that happens. If you’ve updated your device to the latest security patch, feel free to share your experience in the comment section down below.
