A reader sent Sam Updater a photo of three phone cases hanging on a store pegboard on October 26, 2026. The cases don’t match the camera layout of the Galaxy S26 series. They look closer to the wide camera bar that earlier case leaks tied to the Galaxy S27 Pro and Galaxy S27 Ultra. Take all of this with a grain of salt, because the photo shows no brand, model name or date.
Key points: The photo shows three cases with one wide rectangular camera opening near the top. That doesn’t match the separate lens cutouts on Galaxy S26 Ultra cases. It is close to the camera bar described in Galaxy S27 Pro and Ultra case leaks. We can’t confirm what phone these cases are for.
What does the leaked case photo show?
The photo shows cases in clear plastic bags with plain white header cards, hung on a pegboard. One case is tinted magenta, one is smoke gray and one is clear. A fourth black case and a teal one are partly visible at the edges.
All three main cases share the same shape. Each has a single wide rectangular opening at the top of the back, covering most of the case width and roughly a quarter of its height. A raised lip runs around the opening, and the side buttons are covered. There is no printed logo, text or model number on the cases or the bags.
Does it match the Galaxy S26 series?
No, not on the camera area. Android Authority’s Galaxy S26 Ultra case leak from January 2026 showed a tall camera island with separate circular cutouts for the extra sensors. That is the opposite of one big opening.
The only earlier S26 case leak with a wide camera area was the Galaxy S26 Edge. SamMobile’s 2025 report described an island stretching across the full width of the phone. Samsung dropped that model, and the cutout in our photo stops short of the case edges anyway. The Galaxy S26 Ultra itself is already out, and it is getting One UI 9, as in our post on the Galaxy S26 Ultra setup freeze.
Does it match the Galaxy S27 Ultra and Pro case leaks?
Partly, and that is the interesting part. Android Headlines reported on September 30 that about 40 case listings for the Galaxy S27 Pro and S27 Ultra show a large rectangular camera bar across the top of the back. That is what we see here.
It isn’t a clean match everywhere. Notebookcheck’s September 27 report on early S27 Ultra cases from Ice Universe described an oval cutout with two larger lenses outside it. Our photo shows one plain rectangle.
| Source | Camera cutout described | Matches our photo? |
|---|---|---|
| Android Authority, January 2026 (S26 Ultra) | Tall island with separate circular cutouts | No |
| SamMobile, 2025 (S26 Edge) | Island across the full width of the phone | Partly |
| Android Headlines, September 30, 2026 (S27 Pro and Ultra) | Large rectangular bar across the top | Yes |
| Notebookcheck, September 27, 2026 (S27 Ultra) | Oval cutout with two lenses outside it | No |
SamMobile reported that Ice Universe shared a render of four cases for the S27 series, with the Pro and Ultra getting a new raised camera housing. Android Headlines adds that the base Galaxy S27 and S27 Plus are said to keep the familiar vertical layout, and that launch is expected around February 2027. None of that is official.
How much should you trust this photo?
Not much on its own. Here is what we can’t verify:
- Where and when the photo was taken. It reached us through our contact page, and we haven’t seen the store.
- Which phone the cases are for. Universal or generic cases also come with large cutouts.
- Whether the cutout matches a real Samsung phone. Case makers work from leaked dimensions, and early molds are often wrong.
Samsung hasn’t announced the Galaxy S27 series. If a case maker got the shape right, the photo supports the horizontal camera bar story. If not, it is a stack of generic cases. Both are possible, and we will update this post if a clearer source appears.
For the Samsung phones that already have the update, see our One UI 9 device list.
FAQ
Is this a Galaxy S26 Ultra case?
It doesn’t look like one. Leaked Galaxy S26 Ultra cases showed separate circular lens cutouts, while this photo shows one wide rectangular opening.
Are these Galaxy S27 Ultra cases?
They may be, since the shape resembles the camera bar in September case listings for the Galaxy S27 Pro and Ultra. Nothing in the photo confirms it.
When will the Galaxy S27 launch?
Samsung hasn’t said. Android Headlines reports that launch is expected around February 2027.
