A Galaxy S27 BIS listing has turned up on India’s Bureau of Indian Standards database under model number SM-S952B/DS, SammyGuru reported on November 5, 2026. That’s about two months sooner than the Galaxy S26, which was reported on the same database on January 4, 2026. Samsung hasn’t announced the phone, and the listing carries no specs.
If you’re waiting on the Galaxy S27 in India, this tells you the dual-SIM model is moving through approvals. It doesn’t give you a date, a price or a final spec sheet, so there’s no reason to change your buying plans just yet.
What the Galaxy S27 BIS listing shows
There’s not much in the Galaxy S27 BIS entry, and that’s normal. SammyGuru says the listing covers the phone itself, not a battery, which is what usually shows up at this stage. Sammy Fans reported the same model number and calls it the first formal clearance for the base Galaxy S27 in India.
Here’s how to read the number.
| Part | What it points to |
|---|---|
| SM-S952 | The base Galaxy S27 |
| B | The Europe and international variant |
| /DS | Dual SIM |
The same model number already appeared elsewhere. The Tech Outlook reported two UL Solutions certificates issued on October 23, and those list SM-S952B/DS for Europe and other international markets.
Two months sooner than the Galaxy S26
This is the part that interested me. Sammy Fans reported the Galaxy S26 and S26+ on BIS on January 4, 2026, under SM-S942B and SM-S947B. Samsung then unveiled the Galaxy S26 series at Unpacked on February 25, about seven weeks later.
The Galaxy S27 BIS listing puts the phone at the same stage in early November. Does that mean an Unpacked in late December? I wouldn’t read it that way. SammyGuru says the phone isn’t expected until next year and that Samsung seems to be getting approvals done well in advance. One early listing can’t move a launch date on its own.
The S26 comparison also isn’t perfectly clean. Both dates are when the listing was reported, not the date on the BIS approval itself, and the S26 Ultra appeared a month before its siblings, in early December 2025.
What other Galaxy S27 filings point to
The Galaxy S27 BIS listing has no specs, so the rest comes from other regulators and reports.
- Charging: the UL certificates rate the phone at 9V and 2.77A, about 25W, matching the earlier China 3C listing reported by The Tech Outlook.
- Variants: those certificates cover ten model numbers, including SM-S952U for US carriers, SM-S952U1 for unlocked US phones and SM-S952N for South Korea.
- Chip: the Exynos 2700 is expected for most markets and a Snapdragon for the US, but The Tech Outlook notes this remains unconfirmed.
- Memory and display: Sammy Fans says NBD filings tie SM-S952B to a 6.3-inch display with 12GB of RAM and 256GB of storage. Treat that as one report for now.
So 25W charging on the base Galaxy S27 shows up in two separate certifications, and the chip and display details don’t have that backing yet.
What comes next for the Galaxy S27 in India
SammyGuru expects the other three models to appear on the database in the coming weeks, which points to a four-phone lineup of Galaxy S27, S27+, S27 Pro and S27 Ultra. That lineup is still a rumor. We covered an earlier hint about the top model in our Galaxy S27 Ultra case photo post.
