One UI 9 is officially out. But if you’re in India, you’ve probably noticed it hasn’t landed on your phone yet.
So when is it coming? In this post, I will show you where the rollout stands in India right now and when you can expect it on your Galaxy phone.
I will keep this page updated, and the tracker table below updates itself as soon as Samsung releases One UI 9 for any device in India.
Is One UI 9 Available in India Right Now?
Not yet. Samsung started the official One UI 9 rollout on September 16, 2026. So far, the stable update has gone out only to the Galaxy S26 series in South Korea and on T-Mobile in the US.
Indian Galaxy S26 units are still on One UI 8.5. The latest Indian build for the Galaxy S26 Ultra is S948BXXS4AZHL with the August 2026 security patch, released on August 31.
The only phones running One UI 9 in India right now are the Galaxy Z Fold8 Ultra, Z Fold8 and Z Flip8, because they ship with it out of the box.

Expected One UI 9 Release Dates in India
Samsung hasn’t shared an India-specific schedule. But India usually gets the global B model firmware quite early, often within one to three weeks of Korea for flagships.
Based on how One UI 8 and One UI 8.5 rolled out in India, this is what I expect:
| Device | Expected in India |
|---|---|
| Galaxy S26, S26+, S26 Ultra | Early October 2026 |
| Galaxy S25 series, S25 Edge | October 2026 |
| Galaxy Z Fold7, Z Flip7, Z Flip7 FE | October 2026 |
| Galaxy S24 series, Z Fold6, Z Flip6 | October to November 2026 |
| Galaxy S25 FE, S24 FE | November 2026 |
| Galaxy A56, A36, A26 | November to December 2026 |
| Galaxy S23 series, Z Fold5, Z Flip5, S23 FE | December 2026 |
| Galaxy A55, A35, A16 and the M and F series | December 2026 to early 2027 |
These are estimates, not official dates. The live table above is what you should trust.
Galaxy M and F series phones sold in India usually get updates a few weeks after the matching A series phone.
Is My Phone Getting One UI 9?
Most Galaxy phones launched from 2023 onward are eligible. That includes the Galaxy S23 series and newer, the Z Fold5 and Z Flip5 and newer, and most of the A5x and A3x series from 2023 onward.
The Galaxy S22 series, Z Fold4 and Z Flip4 are not getting One UI 9. They’re still getting security updates, though.
For the complete list, see the One UI 9 device list. And if you want to know how long your phone will keep getting updates, read my post on the Samsung update policy.
What’s New in One UI 9 for Indian Users?
One UI 9 is based on Android 17 and brings a lot of new features. A few stand out for India:
- Scam Detection: Samsung is expanding Scam Detection to India with One UI 9. It warns you about suspicious calls, which is a big deal given how common scam calls are here.
- My FanCam: automatically creates a video that focuses on one person in a group, like your kid at a school function.
- Now Brief and Now Nudge: smarter suggestions based on what you’re doing on your phone.
- Security Brief and Privacy Alerts: a clearer view of which apps are touching your data.

You can read about all of them in my One UI 9 features roundup.
How to Check for One UI 9 in India
When the tracker shows your phone as live in India, here’s how to install it:
- Connect to Wi-Fi and charge your phone above 50%.
- Open Settings and tap Software update.
- Tap Download and install.
- Tap Download, then Install now.

If it doesn’t show up even though the tracker says it’s live, don’t worry. Samsung rolls it out in batches. Here’s what to do when the One UI 9 update is not showing.
Can I Install One UI 9 in India Before the Official Release?
Technically, yes. Indian models (like SM-S948B) use the same global firmware as Europe, so when the XEU or other European build is out, you can flash it with Odin.
But I wouldn’t recommend it for most people. The Indian build usually follows within days, and flashing another region’s firmware can mess with features like VoLTE or Samsung Pay (Samsung Wallet). If you still want to do it, use HOME_CSC and read up on CSC files first.
