Quick answer: The stable One UI 9 update for the Galaxy Z Fold 7, Z Flip 7 and Z Flip 7 FE is now live in Europe, the US, Canada and dozens of other regions. The build ends in CCZIH and carries the September 2026 security patch. New Zealand, South Africa, Taiwan and Hong Kong joined over the weekend.

If you own a Galaxy Z Fold 7 or Z Flip 7 and you were waiting for the big update, it’s probably sitting on Samsung’s servers for your region right now.

The Galaxy Z Fold 7 One UI 9 update started in South Korea in late September. Over the last two weeks it has spread country by country, and our firmware tracker picked up the latest regions just a few hours ago. Let me break down where it is, which build you should look for and how to get it.

Galaxy Z Fold 7 One UI 9 update: where it’s live

Samsung announced the official One UI 9 rollout on September 16, 2026, starting with the Galaxy S26 series. It said other Galaxy devices would follow gradually, and the Fold 7 family was next in line.

Here’s the timeline based on what our server has detected so far:

  1. South Korea got it first on September 28 (SM-F966N, SM-F766N and SM-F761N).
  2. AT&T pushed it to the US Fold 7 and Flip 7 on October 2, and T-Mobile followed between October 5 and October 7.
  3. Unlocked US units (SM-F966U1, SM-F766U1 and SM-F761U1) and Canadian units got it between October 6 and October 7.
  4. The international models went live in a big wave from October 6, covering Europe, the Middle East, Turkey, Southeast Asia, Australia and Latin America.
  5. New Zealand, South Africa, Taiwan and Hong Kong were added on October 12.

So if you live in one of those places and still don’t see it, you’re not missing out for long. Samsung opens the update in batches, even inside the same country.

Build numbers to look for

All three phones use the same CCZIH build tag. That makes it easy to confirm you’re on the right firmware.

  1. Galaxy Z Fold 7 (SM-F966B): F966BXXUCCZIH
  2. Galaxy Z Flip 7 (SM-F766B): F766BXXUCCZIH
  3. Galaxy Z Flip 7 FE (SM-F761B): F761BXXUCCZIH
  4. US carrier models: F966USQUCCZIH and F766USQUCCZIH
  5. US unlocked: F966U1UEUCCZIH
  6. Canada: F966WVLUCCZIH and F766WVLUCCZIH

The security patch level on all of them is September 5, 2026. Yes, that’s one month behind the October bulletin. Samsung usually adds the newer patch in the next monthly update, so I wouldn’t worry about it.

Want to know what each letter in that build means? My Samsung firmware version guide walks through every character, including why the “C” in CCZIH matters for downgrades.

What about China?

Chinese models are the odd ones out. The SM-F9660 and SM-F7660 in Taiwan and Hong Kong got the full One UI 9 build, but the mainland China units have only received security builds so far. If you’re in China, you’ll have to wait a bit longer.

How to install One UI 9 on the Fold 7 and Flip 7

Before you start, back up your phone. This is a full Android version jump, and the download is several gigabytes. My backup guide for One UI 9 shows the quickest way to do it.

  1. Charge the phone to at least 50% and connect to Wi-Fi.
  2. Open Settings and go to Software update.
  3. Tap Download and install.
  4. Wait for the download to finish, then tap Install now.
  5. Leave the phone alone until it reboots and shows the One UI 9 welcome screen.

One more tip. A few users have reported their phone getting stuck on an error screen right after a One UI 9 update. If that happens to you, don’t panic and don’t factory reset. I’m putting together a separate fix guide for it.

Frequently Asked Questions

Is One UI 9 out for the Galaxy Z Flip 7 FE?

Yes. The SM-F761B is on the same F761BXXUCCZIH build as the Flip 7, and it’s live in Europe, the Middle East, Southeast Asia and Latin America.

Why don’t I see the update on my Fold 7 yet?

Samsung rolls out in batches by country, carrier and even serial number. If it’s live in your region and you still see nothing after a day or two, try the steps in my One UI 9 update not showing guide.

Can I flash One UI 9 on the Fold 7 with Odin?

You can, as long as you download firmware for your exact model and CSC. Use Frija to grab it and Odin to install it. For most people, waiting for the OTA is the safer choice.

How many more years of updates will the Fold 7 get?

The Fold 7 and Flip 7 are covered for seven years of OS and security updates. You can see the full list in my Samsung update policy page.

Final Words

That’s the state of the Fold 7 family right now. One UI 9 is out almost everywhere, the build ends in CCZIH and the patch is September 2026.

Did the update reach your phone yet? Drop your model number and country in the comments, and I’ll add your region to the list if our server hasn’t caught it already.
